BILL STURDEVANT - HEAD COACH
Coach Sturdevant is a USA Hockey Master (level 5) Coach entering his 27th season behind the bench and his 3rd season as the Los Alamitos High School Ice Hockey head coach.
Originally from Alaska, Bill began coaching at the high School varsity level in Alaska during the 2000-2001 season. Between 2000 and 2013 Bills teams qualified for the state tournament 8 times, twice finishing 4th. Bills teams won 8 conference titles and 3 region championships in 7 appearances. Bill was named High School Coach of the year in
2008-2009.
Along with Bill's experience at the high school level, Bill has also coached at the 16,17 and 18 tier level with an Alaska state Championship at the 17U division. Bill has taken several teams to international tier 1 and 2 tournaments in Canada and has served as an evaluator for Alaska’s USA hockey select teams and festivals. Bill has also worked as a volunteer with the Special Olympics Winter Sports.
Since relocating to California in 2015 with his family, Bill has coached hockey with the Los Alamitos High School Hockey Club, Ontario Jr Reign, Orange County Hockey Club and Ontario Moose.
Bill prides himself on player development and has seen several of his players advance to Junior, Collegiate and Professional hockey.
Outside of coaching, Bill was employed as a Rope Access Oil Field inspector in Alaska’s Arctic Circle for 10 years and is now a Utilities Inspector in the Los Angeles area.
